iPhone A2161 - will it work on Optus 4G (Australia)?

I purchased an iPhone 11 Pro Max from Gumtree last year. It is an A2161 model which is the American one.

I have received an email from Optus advising that my device may not compatible with their 4G network.

Can anyone assist with this?

Mobile network no longer supporting iPhone 11 My mobile network just sent an email and message saying that their mobile network will no longer support iPhone 11 as it uses 3G and so I need to upgrade my phone? This phone is not that old and I have just replaced the screen. Is there some way to update it so it can still be used.

iPhones are not region locked, but different countries use different LTE Bands for their networks. Your iPhone is optimized for American LTE Bands, not for Australian

It could work, but the experience is not tailored to the bands used in your country, and therefore it could be non- compatible.
