Why is the back button greyed out in iTunes?

Every now and then I'm playing some music in iTunes on MacOS and I want to skip to the previous song but the back button is greyed out.

What's the logic there? I can search for it again manually but that seems kinda tedious.

Is there a way to make back clickable?

itunes stops playing music when I add a song to a playlist I note that this has been happening for a long while, on both Mac and Windows. Listen to song from playlist in itunes desktop for windows 11. add song to another playlist. itunes stops playing song and erases your listening history of the song.
