Several of my Apple devices called 911 and I was unable to stop those calls

2 days ago my husbands iPhone 14 Pro blacked out and a reboot resulted in a 911 call. With the screen blanked out we had no idea 911 was still on the line. This ended with the sheriff at our doorstep.

today my Apple Watch 8 went bonkers and dialed 911 while I was doing a workout. Trying to see what was the issue ended up with the siren on the watch. Could not even cut the call and ended up again with an explanation to 911.

we absolutely do not want to be dinged over something that we have no control over. And I cannot imagine my kids having to go through this either.

we did end up turning the SOS feature off but that definitely is not a long term solution. Not if there is an emergency.
