2009 Honda FIt used to play iphone 13. It is baffled by my iphone 15

I used to use the USB port inside the small glovebox in my 2009 Honda Fit with moderate success (I'd regularly have to unplug replug it to get the flashing "unsupported" message to go away. When I first plugged in my iPhone 15, using an adaptor from male USB-C to male USB, it worked fine. After about a song, I saw an error message like no other. Can't get it to even see it's a USB device. Of course when the 2009 Honda Fit was new when I bought it, iPods were the only ubiquitous portable music player. I am guessing I'm SOL, as the manual has no helpful info, and I haven't found any solutions online. Any suggestiongs greatly appreciated.
