MacBook Air screen flickers

I recently purchased a MacBook Air M2. The screen flickers whenever I put my iPhone 8 against the screen. When the phone is in Airplane mode , it doesn't seem to happen. Does anyone else have this problem or have any idea why this is happening? Thanks for any help!
