Does the iPad Air 6th Gen have it's own case ?

So I have preordered the new iPad Air released this week. Does the IPad Air 6th gen have its own case or can you use a previous generations case such as the 5th gen?

Thanks

The new 2024 iPad's Pro and Air have different physical dimensions to previous models. As such, fitted cases intended for earlier models will not be compatible with the new iPad models.

While Apple manufacturer folio keyboards and covers for many models of iPad, it hasn't manufactured fitted cases for iPad for many years. That said, there are many third-party manufacturers that offer compatible cases for iPad.

At launch, model-specific third-party cases and accessories will be limited in choice. Apple does some market third-party options; these can be found on Apple's website - and via the Apple Store App.

Apologies. To clarify in more detail, the 2024 iPads Pro (M4) and earlier models differ in physical size.

While the new 2024 (M2) and prior iPad Air5 have the same chassis dimensions, relocation of the camera from the short to long edge of the screen - together with addition of support for the new Apple Pencil Pro (which requires physical contact with the iPad's inductive charging pad for both pairing and charging the Pencil) - may render cases intended for the earlier iPad Air unsuitable.

If using a fitted case that is not explicitly designed for the 2024 iPad Air, you'll not be able to use an Apple Pencil Pro - but can use the alternative USB-C Pencil. This alternative Pencil forgoes both the advanced controls of the Pro along with pressure sensitivity.
