I cannot stream video directly from Mac book pro to Sony TV . I can mirror and than play from the mirrored screen not problem , but when I try to stream it directly from my Mac book pro, I get a message (plz see picture )that this format of video can not be played on this tv. while the format is just mp4 . Any tips or tricks for this. many thanks
Something about the file itself as-is makes it incompatible to stream using AirPlay to this TV. That can be a codec issue, or frame rate issue, or interlace issue, or something more obscure.
If you will, please post the (extended) media file details from an analyses tool like Invisor Lite or MediaInfo, to examine if anything in there points to an incompatibility.
E.g. if your file is using a codec different from H.264/H.265 video with AAC/AC3 audio, then that might not work for AirPlay.
