Music app on Sonoma 14.4.1 won't merge albums

I've tried adding X to the artist and title names, and closing Music and trying again. Nothing. I don't even get the spinning wheel that indicates a change is about to occur. I have a super large music library on an external hard drive. Could that be part of the problem?

Apple Music splitting up tracks into duplicate albums I've run into this a few times now and it's really frustrating: Apple Music (on Mac) sometimes splits up the tracks from an album into two different duplicate albums. After adding an album through Apple Music, it will sometimes appear as two different albums in my library with the same artwork and metadata. One album will have like a single track, track 5 or whatever, and the rest will be in the other album without that missing track. The only fix I know is to delete both from my library and re-add them from Apple Music. This usually clears it up but I've had instances where the album split again. In any case, the app should work better than this. I tried clicking "Show complete album" in one of those instances and it auto-duplicated every song. Two versions of track 1, two versions of track 2, etc. Made it worse. Had to delete everything and re-add. Is there a way to prevent this? Or a better avenue to report bugs? Thanks.

Why does the Music App split albums when you upload I have several albums in the Music App that on my MacBook that were either loaded from a CD or download off Amazon and for some reason to app splits up the songs into different albums. In the image below off my MacBook the double album downloaded and split it into three, 2 files had one song and all the rest were in the last file. I have dozens of albums that have been randomly split like this and obviously won't play all the songs as one album. Does anyone know why and how do I merge all the songs back into one original single album, please? It does it on my MacBook and even worse on my iPhone and iPad. When I sync either iPad or iPhone with music library, it corrupts all the albums. I have the latest iOS on both and have even tried removing all the songs, deleting the Music App and starting over with the same result. Any ideas please? On my iPhone it did this, several songs in different files and one with the rest...?? Please don't judge me by my music... Hehe! TIA

Apple Music - Can No Longer Edit Multiple Items At Once Ever since updating to the first Sonoma update (now on Sonoma 14.1.2) I have had trouble editing albums in Music. Everyone is probably aware that iTunes / Music has always had a gremlin that would split albums. Normally I would highlight the split titles, go to Get Info and find the anomaly. If there was nothing obvious I could always put an x after the title in both (or more) highlighted albums and then they would usually join together. Now, with Sonoma, if I get an album that perhaps splits into several albums, I highlight them all and enter the relevant info. For some reason I now cannot input info for multiple items at once. I have to enter the missing / incorrect info individually for every single track that split. If I decide it's too much effort I can highlight them all and it WILL respond if I try to delight multiple items. In short, I can delete multiple items by highlighting them all but cannot update the info the multiple items in one go. Anyone know why? Thank you.
