Issues with ads and some apps not working

Hello,

I've been experiencing issues with my iPhone for years, without finding a solution. The main problem is that ads fail to load across various applications on my iPhone. Whenever I search for something on Google (or any other search engine) or try to click on a "sponsored" link, I receive an error message saying "This site can't be reached." This issue persists across different search engines and browsers such as Chrome, Safari, and Google. Also ads do not load on any websites, and this issue extends to apps, where ads fail to load, causing some apps to malfunction. For example, crucial information fails to display in the Shopify app, which is essential for my work, and the Facebook Messenger app doesn't even open because there is an error message "This page isn't available at the moment."

This issue first appeared on my iPhone XS about three years ago, and it has continued with my new iPhone 14 Pro. I suspect that something installed on my iPhone XS altered some network configuration settings, and these changes were carried over to my new iPhone when I switched devices.

I am getting desperate, as I have tried nearly every available solution to try and fix this issue. Here are some the things that I have tried:

    • I have tried using various DNS addresses.
    • I have used a VPN.
    • I have connected to multiple networks.
    • Whether I am on Wi-Fi or mobile data makes no difference.
    • I have performed a factory reset on my phone.
    • I have reset the network settings multiple times.
    • I purchased a new phone.
    • I have cleared the history, cache, and cookies on Safari.
    • I always make sure that my apps and iOS are up to date.
    • I have reinstalled non functioning apps multiple times.

There are are also no VPN profiles running in the background.

I am currently running iOS 17.5 on iPhone 14 pro

I would really appreciate if someone could help me find a solution to my problem.

Delete any VPN profiles in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just any off off; delete the profile. If a profile is installed, even if it is not running, it can mess up the network stack.
