Will my non cellular series 9 Apple Watch work in Europe with an Esim

I am in Canada, I have an Apple Watch series 9 watch - no cellular which works with my iPhone. I am travelling to Europe and have purchased an Esim for the phone. Will the Apple Watch work with the phone on another carrier? I am assuming it doesn't matter but am looking for a hard yes or no.

Windows, Windows 6

The GPS only Apple Watch works anywhere your iPhone works.

It does not know anything about your iPhone’s cellular connection.

It just asks your iPhone to do things, and how the iPhone chooses to perform them is independent from the Apple Watch.

The iPhone could use WiFi or cellular data for internet access. The iPhone could use WiFi calling or cellular for phone calls. The Apple Watch does not need to know, as long as the request the Apple Watch makes is accomplished.
