I’m getting errors when trying to set up account for the App Store

I’ve had my iPhone for 2 years and have never had this issue. I have numerous apps downloaded. I sent an email to another account but it listed my name on email as the original from when my google account was set up. I’ve changed the name in google, the phone itself, and everything I possibly can, but in gmails it still shows up wrong. I have apps offloaded when they aren’t used so gmail itself hasn’t been installed in a while. I tried downloading but it takes me to the App Store and says my account has not been used there before (despite having a profile set up.) I’ve changed my password and it still isn’t working. It either: refuses to get past the App Store account creation page, or refuses to load up anything past the part where you sign in with a password (I.E. giving me a pop up saying they’ve run into an issue.) my wifi is fine and my signal is perfect but it still refuses to work no matter what I do. Is anybody able to help?

An App Store app is forever tied to the Apple ID used to acquire it (paid or free). The Apple ID is encoded into the licensed copy that is downloaded. It is in the copy's DNA. That is the only Apple ID that can redownload or update the app.


It sounds like you have created a new Apple ID instead of just changing the email address connected to your old Apple ID. You will need to set up the App Store/iTunes account again with the new Apple ID.


On a Mac;

Open the System Settings app (in the Apple menu)

Chose your Apple ID

Choose Payment & Shipping

Add a payment method to your account details


On an iOS device;

Open the Settings app

Chose your Apple ID

Choose Payment & Shipping

Add a payment method to your account details
