My Apple TV remote is not working
My remote won’t start. It’s brand new

Hello!
Make sure your remote is charged. If your remote has a MENU button, then use a Lightning cable (iPhone 5-14 cable). If your remote has a < button, then it can be charged with USB-C (iPhone 15 or MacBook cable) or Lightning, depending on the model.
If it's still not working after charging, make sure it's paired to the Apple TV. Point the remote at the Apple TV box and hold down the < or MENU button, and the volume up (+) buttons at the same time for 5 seconds.
If it's still not working after pairing, restart your remote. Press and hold the TV button and the volume down (-) buttons at the same time for 5 seconds. Wait for a Connection Lost message to appear on your TV screen. Wait a couple of seconds while the remote is restarting, and then you should see a Connected message on your TV screen.
