My fall detection on my Apple Watch Ultra 2 is not working properly

I’ve read the problems people have about fall detection, still no solutions it seems like. So I want to bring this up again, i demand a solution for this… Apple! I’m so disappointed, sad – and worried.

I had the Series 5 and the fall detection worked ok back then, a little too sensitive but it did at least realise when I fell. But since I’ve gotten the Ultra 2 it has been so dysfunctional it’s become a joke. If I clap my hands it will ask me if I fell. (I always correct it and tell it I didn’t fall, thinking it would make it work more correct). I’ve fallen before that and after that. Never reacting. I fall quite often in my sports, different sports, I’ve done some major accidental ragdolls and been laying flat after hard hit on the ground – not a single reaction from the watch. I’ve fallen when climbing/hiking, hard. I’ve fallen when running and I’ve been passing out in my home hitting the floor hard. I’ve fallen soft, hard, medium, quick, slow, I’ve fallen all the ways possible. I’ve fallen backwards, to the side, falling down standing, falling forwards, been dragged by equipment after fallen, I’ve done it all, NO REACTION.

Clap my hands once, like when to get attention from someone, THATS when it’s been asking me.

I CANT GET A SOLUTION. I bought an ultra because I am active in sports and I want this to function. I need it to function.

My height and weight and everything is set right in my settings. I’ve done som many double checking to make it work, making sure it’s all correct. Done the instructions.

WHAT is this issue?

did ANYONE find a solution?

Firstly there is no point demanding a solution from us, we are just a user to user group who will help you if we can. If you want to complain contact Apple directly using their feedback pathway.

Here a few very basic things you can try to resolve you problem.

  • Make sure your iPhone & Apple watch have the latest software releases installed
  • Turn off fall detection for 24hrs then turn it back on and see if it helps.
  • If you haven't done so already shut the watch down and restart it.

Lastly try searching this user group for previous questions on this subject. Also try a web search for your problem.

If all else fails book an appointment at an Apple Store and get them to look at your watch.

Check your settings using the Watch app on your iPhone. Have your read the notification Apple has included below the settings?

>>Apple Watch cannot detect all falls.

The more physically active you are, the more likely you are to trigger Fall Detection due to high impact activity that can appear to be a fall. Enabling Fall Detection only during workouts may reduce false detections.<<
