not Fitting AirPods Pro (1st generation) ear tips

I am trying to replace my ear tips - I have double checked with Apple that the serial number and model number are 1st generation, and I bought replacement 1st generation ear tips from Apple. The ear tips simply do not click into place, when trying to force on, the tips split.... (se picture).

I have been to the apple support pages and the instructions show an Airpod with BLACK interior, whereas mine is WHITE - see picture and screenshot - so the instructions do not map to my product.

Help needed please
