I cannot send emails via Mail account on iMac and iPhone

Cannot send emails via Mail account on iMac and iPhone. Server cannot verify account name or password. Any suggestions?

Log into the web mail of your account provider to verify that your password has not changed.


Once you are able to confirm your Password works, then go to Mail > Settings > [choose account] > Server Settings, and enter the password on the bottom portion where it says Outgoing Mail Server or SMTP.


Some mail providers require a separate App Password to be used. For specific instructions on using the App Password, provide the name of your email provider as the steps for each may be different.
