iMac 2020 shuts down daily unexpected / EtreCheck report included

iMac randomly shutdowns at least once a day for a kernel panic. I would really like to save this iMac, any help is much appreciated.

Not sure if you do not have any LaunchAgents or LaunchDaemons installed that may cause a kernel panic or if the report was edited, because there are none showing there. There is nothing in the report that would point to a software issue.

All I could suggest to try is:

  • Update to Sonoma 14.5
  • Remove any external devices such as drives or monitors
  • Start up in Safe Mode

If no luck, then the next step is to take it to Apple for diagnostics as it would most likely be a hardware issue:

Thanks for your input. I tried changing the setting and it did not change the behavior. I also set up boot camp to see if it happens while running windows. And surprisingly it was stable and does not restart. I left my iMac on booted into windows for 2 days and experienced 0 issues. When I restarted back in to Mac OS it immediately shutdown though.

I have 4 16gb sticks of ram in this iMac so I am removing 3 of them and testing it stick by stick on memory channel A to make sure it is not a ram issue. If I experience the same problems I will try try memory channel B. Any other suggestions or ideas?
