Generic 2.4Ghz Mouse Wont Work (Mac Sees it as Keyboard)

Hello,

I've got a cute generic 2.4Ghz mouse as a birthday present. When I connect Its dongle to my Macbook pro M1 it asks me to press the "Key near Shift Button" ... But of course my mouse does not have a Shift button and no button will work for this scope.

Is it really impossible to use a generic 2.4Ghz Mouse un my MacBook? How can I say to my computer: "Hey! It's just a mouse, not a wireless keyboard" ?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 13″, OS X 10.11
