Previously I was on 17.4.1 iOS with my new iPhone. I was pretty fine and satisfied with the full day battery life of the phone. Recently I updated phone to 17.5 now I am regretting it. The phone is not able to provide me full day battery. I have to charge twice in day which was previously not. Phone is heating more than previous. Idle state discharge of the battery is increased

I have no problem with battery life on 17.5; you should look into what is using the energy. And it has been less than 24 hours since you were even able to update, so it is really meaningless to say that battery life is down without more time to collect data.
If battery life is down then SOMETHING is using energy that wasn’t; battery life doesn’t just vanish into thin air. Basic things to check:
Absolutely ridiculous.
Apple has increased the phone durability while destroying the mechanics. My battery needs charging at least 3 times a day and it is hot from browsing and using the camera.
I also discovered this morning that the screen isn’t exact with response.
I have a 14 Pro Max and I use to be able to leave my house for work at 7am and come back at 6pm without having to charge my phone, it's 11am right now and I'm at 60% with no change in my usage patterns. Everytime I touch my phone it's warm, even when I haven't been on it for long perriods.

I’m countering the same issue. It takes place again and again every year after Apple issues a new version of iOS.

I am facing the same issue after the update for my iPhone 15 pro. I updated it to iOS 17.5 and seeing that the battery is draining too quickly and my phone gets heated
I’ve followed your advice and completed all the steps. No results! In general, the latest version of iOS drains battery about 20 percent faster than iOS 17.4.
I Have same heat and darin so fast problem at my iphone 13 promax and 14 pro max since update to 17.5 , hope Apple can fix this problem very soon 👌

Thanks Lawrence, since upgrading to 17.5 I was unable to use the internet or wifi. I deleted the VPN profiles as you suggested and all works fine now, thanks.
Will Apple be able to provide customer support in this regard or forum will be used just for complaint purposes.
Apple Watch 8. Same drain problem- 25% less time before charge is needed. In Settings/Battery I do not see any app usage data.
