Why is Microsoft WORD running slow?

That was my experience working with 16.84 or 16.85 — I had to restart Word every 30-45 minutes. Since the installation of the 16.85.2, I have stopped facing this problem. My daily routine is working with two documents simultaneously while translating a book from Spanish into Brazilian Portuguese. They are not big files, currently under 250 kb, but both have more than 150 pages each. Before this update, after 30 minutes I started to face the spinning ball and sometimes crashing Word.

Please confirm which version you are using. There is a known performance issue on Microsoft Word 16.84 and 16.85.

Microsoft released a new update on May 27th, but you will need to change the AutoUpdate channel mode.

This will allow AutoUpdate to install the 16.85.2, which fixes the slowness and spinning ball of Word Excel.
