Does a CD, after importing, taking a long time to sync with iTunes Match?

I've had itunes match for years, but only recently started buying new CDs.

I want to get them on my Match account.

I've just imported a CD into my Library. I'm on Sonoma.

Should this just sync to iTunes Match in a given amount of time, or do I need to press something to resync?

ps. if I go to my iPhone or iPad, the album I uploaded is not there yet. That's about 5 mins after import.
