iPhone Temperature Waring

I got this iPhone 12 Pro Max from a friend and the iPhone 12 pro max was working properly for a few days and I didn't get water, drop or any other damage in the iPhone. However, it is giving me the temperature warning ever since. I have tried to restart the device, shut it off, force restart it but it usually gives the warning after 5 seconds. I do not know what to do right now.

Of course, your friend will not tell you that they knew about this before they sold the phone to you.

The phone has problems. Your best bet would be to return the phone for a refund.

Otherwise, the phone likely needs a new battery or even more service attention at the Apple Store or an authorized Apple service shop. Service will run anywhere from about $100-400 depending on what is needed.
