Blinking red dot near earpiece on Iphone 12 Mini

Hello, i've been researching this since it's starting to creep me out. People have said that this red light is a sensor light, and is usually not picked up unless you're in an especially dark place. Well that's what I thought this flickering light was, however, I noticed that there are two different lights. There's the dim, barely noticeable light that flickers briefly when I turn my phone on, which I believe is the sensor light, and then there's a flickering red dot that shows up.

This flickering red dot is in the same area as the sensor light, but instead of a dim, barely noticeable flash, it's a shapely red circle that flickers repeatedly. This red dot shows up regardless of if it's dark or not, and is easily noticeable. I hate it, and it makes me especially anxious since it only gets activated when I'm on a web browser like safari or chrome. I feel like my activity is being watched or tracked. I never had that dot before until this year, when I noticed it. Can anyone give me an explanation as to what it is? Is this flickering red dot also the sensor light? Why does it exhibit strange behavior (like it only appears and flickers when I'm on a web browser?) Is it a sign that my phone security has been breached?

It's making me extremely paranoid and I can't use my phone with peace of mind.
