Language anomaly on iPhone

My iPhone 8 on IOS 16.8 operates entirely in English, but text headings are in French, instead of English.

try and see if your language settings are correct, and if they are please force restart your iPhone to see if the issues persist

Press and quickly release the volume up button.
Press and quickly release the volume down button.
Press and hold the side button.
When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

Thanks for the quick response. I followed the instructions, but text headers (e.g. SPACE, SHIFT) are still in Frech, while my selected language and all other functions are in U.S. English

To further clarify: It is only the texting keyboard designations that are in French; e.g. instead of "SPACE" my phone says "ESPACE".
