Touching top of screen causes scrolling to top of imessage

When I pickup or hold the top of my iPhone 15 I lightly touch the top of the screen. This causes iMessage to scroll to the top, oldest, message.

I want to turn this off.

Sorry, you can’t. This is a system-wide functionality that you have in most (if not all) apps. There are no settings to turn it off.
