Savings documents into files on Mac

When I try to save a numbers or pages file with a new name into a file, I can hardly ever find an option for my file. I end up having to save it to my desktop and then moving it into the file from there. It's doable but for the price I pay to operate a Mac, it seems I should be able to save directly into a file. Help...

Hi dpgdavis,

Method 1. Menu > File > Save...

Method 2. Menu > File > and hold down the option key. Duplicate will change to Save as...

You can type a new name and choose a new location (folder).

Method 3. Click on the document name at the top of the Pages window. Type a new name and choose a new location (folder). Click anywhere outside that dialogue to dismiss it.

Regards,

Ian.
