Transferring physical book to Apple Books app

Hi I have a question you see I have a lot of sonic comic books at home but I wondering if I already own a physical copy of the book can I port it to my books app on my iPad without resulting to piracy is there anyway but I don’t want to use adobe acrobat so ya anyone got a answer?
