Mac OS friendly multifunction printers?

I need to replace my old Canon MX422 printer that has worked well with my iMac. I also have used Canon mg6620 (which was actually better until it broke). Also, I plan to upgrade to the latest iMac OS Sonoma (14). I am having a hard time researching either inkjets or monochrome laser printers that would be suitable replacement printers. Any suggestions/ thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Many reviews are negative for being MAC friendly; or working on newer Wi-Fi with both 2.4 & 5.0 bands. I prefer one that will print on demand without manually waking it up. Thanks!

You just need an AirPrint compatible printer, which most of them are nowadays. This will prevent having to rely on manufacturer printer drivers that are slow to update to new OS version. Every printer you will find will work on 2.4Ghz Wifi, but a smaller number will work on 5Ghz only. They are gradually changing to using 5Ghz and will have to check the printer specs.
