One of my External Hard Drives icon no longer shows on the desktop of my laptop or desktop Macs. It shows in the Finder only. I have checked necessary boxes, tried a new finder.plish rebuild, but to no avail. Anyone know the fixes to this issue?
Did that. I bought a new laptop running Sonoma 14.4 and plugged the hd into it. It did not show and now the hd doesn't show on my desktop running Monterey 12.2. Could this update to new operating system be the issue? If so, what is the fix?
It has always been in the FINDER. The hard drive is accessible. It is the ICON for the hard drive not showing on the desktop of either computer after having used it on my new laptop running Sonoma 14.4 is the issue.
that's a Finder Preference, and no longer the default.
and as I mentioned, you must either Restart your Mac or force-quit/re-launch Finder after that change to have it reflected.

And in Adobe Bridge, the HD no longer shows in the folders section
I am afraid that would have been to easy a fix. Tried all these things as said before, but I did it again to be thorough. Alas, it did not work.
