May 2024: Iphone 2G model A1203 --Can I get it to still work?

A friend gave me a Iphone 2G model A1203 and I'm hoping to get it to work. I purchased a charger and sim card. Anyone tried to use this phone in 2024 and had luck getting it to work? Any tips appreciated.
