I have purchased a new Mac and am looking at transferring my existing one across to it.
When I look at what is taking up the storage Photos takes up 280GB but also if I looking documents there is something called 'iphoto library.migratedphotolibrary' which takes up 220GB.
If says that I last accessed it yesterday!
Does anyone know what is in this library and if I can delete it before I transfer my data across?

Did you have an iPhoto library? or Aperture? This is the Library before being migrated to Photos. It's redundant, unless there's stuff in there that didn't make the jump. You can copy it to an external drive and delete the copy on your internal drive, if you want. You might want to look inside the migrated library to see if there are any files you're interested in.
