Is your Apple Pencil compatible with your iPad model? Here is Apple’s definitive compatibility list for Apple Pencil and iPad:

Apple Pencil compatibility - Apple Support

Different models of Apple Pencil use different pairing and charging interfaces...

The second generation Pencil can only be used with specific iPad models that have the magnetic/inductive dock that is exclusively designed for the Pencil. Charging is controlled via the iPad magnetic dock.

While the new Apple Pencil Pro is similar to the second generation Pencil, due to a redesign of the inductive charging system, the Apple Pencil Pro is only compatible with the just-released 2024 iPad's Pro and Air. This Pencil is not compatible with any other model of iPad.

The first generation Apple Pencil uses the physical Lightning port of the Pencil and host iPad for both pairing and charging the first generation Pencil. The first generation Pencil can also be charged using an inline charging adapter and the iPad’s Power Adapter. This pencil can only be used with compatible iPad models that have a Lightning connector; with the sole exception of the new iPad10, requiring a special adapter, iPad models that feature a USB-C port lack any means by which to pair with a first generation Pencil.

The USB-C Pencil can be used with any model of iPad that features a USB-C port.

In summary, the Apple Pencil models are not interchangeable - and can only be used with the iPad that has appropriate internal hardware.

Assuming your unidentified Apple Pencil model/generation is compatible with your unidentified iPad model/generation (see this list for compatibility:--> Apple Pencil compatibility ), read this support article:--> If you can't pair Apple Pencil with your iPad .

If the issue still persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly, using this link:--> Contact Apple for support and service , or make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> https://locate.apple.com/choose-country-region . After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

Giulio

You're welcome, RezaNPutra.

Pencil's battery exhausted? (that could be a reason).

If you can, as already suggested, make an appointment and have your iPad + Pencil inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> https://locate.apple.com/choose-country-region . After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

Regards

Giulio
