When I do this, it does not work!
upon further investigation it seems that some emails have no email address?
I assumed something had changed as, when I used to use the method you have confirmed, it used to work but often now it does not show an email address only an alias.
It is a frustrating situation that emails are able to be sent without an originator address, this round seem to be a basic requirement of emails.
However this is not Apples fault, though they could apply weight to the industry to help, as it is not a problem with the Apple Mail app and I will take it up with my email providers.
