I was doing a daily current affairs class and i used to save pdf daily of the class on my ipad from past 3 month but yesterday after the 17.5.1 update my whole folder is empty and all the pdf’s from past 3 month are lost

Usually if your running Adobe Reader it indexes the .pdf files you have opened through it. I would use the the search in the upper right hand corner of a Finder page or use Spotlight to see if it indexed them.

There is no Finder on an iPad.
I had the same issue and there were many of them, when I search them by their names I see them but I can not open
