Whenever I open Mail.app in macOS Sonoma (currently version 14.5) it opens with the list of emails partly scrolled down. Every time. Annoying to have to scroll to the top of the window every time.

seems a bug...
a work around is the keyboard short cut for moving to the top: Control Command T
You can try quitting mail.app and relaunch it holding the Shift key down and compare your results.

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled.
Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
