Can't add Discover Card to Apple Watch

I have had this issue for over a year.  March 2023, I switched watches with a family member.  While reconfiguring the watch, I was able to add all of my cards back except for my Discover Card.  I went back and forth between Apple and Discover over the issue for a few months. I then gave up.  A year later, I decided to try again, but again no resolution.

I currently have an iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 17.5.1 and Apple Watch 5th Gen running WatchOS 10.5.

I have wiped the Apple Watch and started over as if it’s a new watch.

I have reset the Network Settings on my iPhone.

I have removed the Discover Card from my iPhone and 2 iPads and started over.

When I call Apple, they do try to run diagnostics and don’t see anything.  They also suggest that the issue is on the Discover side because they don’t do anything to block or approve the addition of a card.

Discover Card is more tragic.  They will not escalate the issue.  They say that they just send people over to Apple to have it fixed.  Yet the half dozen people and their supervisors that I have talked to at Apple in early 2023 and the handful of people I have talked to this year have no idea what they would do.

Discover Card has a more technical group, who the people over the phone cannot engage directly.  Their only option (which they told me last year and this year) is to send them a note.  The note will NOT be acknowledged.  They will NOT have any way to tell if or when the note will be reviewed with their backend “Web” team.  They can only suggest to try again in about a few weeks to a month.

There was another article here on this forum which was recently closed where some users had some success when they reset their network settings.  I did try to reset my phone’s network settings in hopes, but no luck for me.
