Lost my iPhone 12

I went to a store 4 days ago and then my phone had fell out my pocket and I realised after I had gotten home. I tried calling it but it wouldn’t go through, I erased the iPhone and put it into lost mode but I’m afraid they would be able to bypass activation lock using passcode, Please let me know because I’m afraid they would be able to unlock it using my passcode.

Thank you!

You can't remotely change settings on the phone. As long as you put it in lost mode and you had a passcode on the phone, unless they somehow magically knew your Apple ID and Apple ID Password, they can't bypass activation lock.

  • Do NOT remove the phone from your account
  • Do contact your carrier and ask them to Blacklist the phone
  • Don't believe any messages you receive saying they found your phone and request you validate its yours by entering your credentials. Doing so will let whoever has your phone to erase it and Apple never sends such messages, nor do they get involved in lost or stolen devices
  • Don't be surprised if you receive threatening messages telling they've gotten into your phone and will do bad things with your data. They can't do that
  • Be prepared to buy a new phone as most lost phones are never recovered
