How do I create an Outlook mail account on Sonoma

In iOS, there's an explicit Outlook account path to setting up a new account. This isn't offered in Sonoma for some reason.

The email account is actually a Hotmail account. I'm having an issue that I get at least daily messages to retype the Hotmail password. On my iPhone, after I recreated the Hotmail account as an Outlook account, the messages stopped. I'm trying to do the same thing in Sonoma.

When you go to setup an Outlook account in Apple Mail, use the option called, "Microsoft Exchange". Then put in all your other info like email address and password. It will set everything else up for you. This works for either hotmail.com or outlook.com accounts.

Attempting to use the Microsoft Exchange option in Mac OS Sonoma 14.5 gives this response once inputting the credentials. Apparently it doesn't work for personal accounts that haven't been invited to an organization. The Outlook.com option works great on the iPhone in iOS. Why is this not in option in Sonoma yet? Apple has worked so hard to simplify going between Mac OS, iPadOS and iOS.
