Making a template image appear on subsequent pages

Hi Everyone. I've designed a cute little image of flowers running down the right hand side of my new business 'paper' and saved it as a template. When I need to use it, I want the image to automatically appear on subsequent pages. I discovered a really helpful thread in Questions dated 2016 which appeared to work for many people. The advice was to click on a thumbnail of the original page/template, then under Edit click on "duplicate selection". It worked - but only kind of!! It reproduced the image only on alternate pages.

No problem, I thought, I'll simply delete the blank pages. But no! When I did that, the whole lot disappeared, so I'm back to square one.

Please has anyone got any advice as to how I can make my template appear on all pages in a document? Thank you :) Merryn

(PS I'm fully up to date with all updates and am on Sonoma 14.5)
