Spellcheck making errors

I am running an iPad Pro with the latest OS operating system and latest version of Pages. I have been starting a new document and spellcheck is underlining, in red, the words writing, outrage and going. I have no idea why this would be happening since they are legitimate words and have been spelled correctly. I’ve not done anything to Pages in settings and they are in a default mode. Any idea on how this situation can be corrected so I can rely on Spellcheck being accurate?
