Bushnell golf Phantom 2 GPS not detected by bluetooth and will not connect

I recently purchased a Bushnell Phantom 2 GPS Golf unit and have tried repeatedly to connect it to my iPhone Pro 14 running iOS 17.4.1. The device will not generate a pairing code nor will the iPhone recognize it as any type of bluetooth device. Due to the problem, I also cannot connect to the Bushnell mobile app despite deleting it and reloading it several times, rebooting the GPS, and rebooting the phone. I have also turned the device's bluetooth off and back on several times as well as turned off the iPhones bluetooth several times. Any ideas other than I've probably got a bum GPS unit from Bushnell? The GPS function works perfectly on the Bushnell device, BTW.
