FCP 10.7.1 update Audio Effects (not the sound effects) do not show up in Inspector like before

When I apply an Audio Effect, like Limiter, on an audio clip in the timeline, the effect can be heard to be added to the audio clip, but the HUD that used to appear in the Inspector no longer appears to control the settings I want, nor to remove the audio effect. Is this a bug because I have already tried all the suggestions I can find in this forum for audio. I do use Izotope plug-ins which are notorious for messing up FCP audio on new updates, but this is now a problem with all my audio effects in the Inspector except Volume and EQ and Voice Isolation controls. Any suggestions please?

Thanks Luis for replying. Actually deleting Preferences did work for my audio effects HUD problem when I took the time to look up how to do it properly, by holding down both the Option and Command keys and restarting FCP. I thought I was doing that in the FCP Settings menu. I also had to go to the Inspector Audio menu (speaker icon) and click to SHOW Audio Enhancements which does not appear until I hover my mouse in a certain area. Anyway it now works and I'm very grateful to you.

Some screnshots might help.

"nor to remove the audio effect" - you remove effects directly in the Inspector: select and press delete. Is that not working?

And, just to make sure I understand: you are applying changes using the HUD,

and the changes you are applying here are not being reflected in the clip? Is that it?

Did you try deleting preferences (always good to try when something is not working correctly)?
