Adjustment layer not working FCP 10.7

Hello, I've got an adjustment layer in FCP that I created with Motion (simply creating a new FCP Title and removing the text as shown in many tutorials).

I've dragged the layer on top of my clip in FCP and get the little arrow that says the layer is connected to the clip.

However, no matter what adjustments I make, they don't show in the clip at all.

Any ideas? Cheers.

Correct on both counts. I changed the role from Title to Video to see if it made a difference.

And yes, in Motion I deleted the text layer but kept the background one.

Oh wait, when creating the title in Motion, the background was hidden by default! So I kept it as such.

I've just enable the Title Background and now it works!

Such a simple thing. Sorry for the trouble. I'm quite new to this :)

Thanks!

It all looks correct - except a title usually appears in purple (maybe you changed its role from title to video; but anyway this should not be a problem).

Just to make sure: you removed the text layer in Motion, but you must have kept the "Title Background". You probably did, but sometimes it's the obvious things; if you accidentally removed or disabled the "Title Background", it would cause the problem you are seeing...

I am glad that it is working! I think Apple changed the default behavior when creating a title. It used to have the background layer active by default but now it doesn’t. It probably makes sense because it is usually what we want; for example you want to be able to move the text and not have it move the underlying video with it. But this change makes older tutorials that say “just make a title, delete delete the text and save” incomplete.
