unable to receive a verification code after factory reset

hello! i had an experience before after doing a factory reset on my iphone, when it was time for me to put a verification code, i was unable to receive one. i wasn’t able to receive any codes from text or call and the number and information i put were all correct.


i was able to resolve this by creating a new apple id and signing that new apple id out once i was done setting the phone up and signing in my old apple id. i was suddenly able to receive a code after creating the new one. i’m not sure if i used the same number or my esim number to create that new apple id. i’m unsure if you could use the same number to create a new apple id, but if i really ran out of options, what can i do so that i could receive a code?
