Help with fixes persistent Pages 14.0 Crash when printing to PDF

Hi there,

Every few times that I try to print a Pages 14.0 document (it was happening with version 13 as well), Pages crashes. Most of the time it does not crash. I'd love some advice on how to stop this from happening.

  • I have keyboard shortcuts set to trigger different print plugins.
  • I am running MacOS 14.5
  • Its a MacBook Pro 14" 2021 with 8 GB RAM

Thanks in advance.

You are wasting your time posting those crash reports here as no Apple Pages product team members participate here and most of your fellow users don't read crash reports for a living, not that this information is sufficient and leads to an answer. If you sent that crash report to Apple, it will find its way to the Pages product team.

Pages v14 on Sonoma 14.5 never crashes for me when printing, exporting, or any other application behavior.

That 8GB RAM is barely sufficient to run Sonoma and many other RAM-demanding applications or browsers with several large websites open in tabs.

Are you running any anti-virus, so-called "cleaner" applications, or any third-party tweaking tools? Any of these could impact Pages behavior and to wit, I have none installed.

I use Apple's AirPrint with a networked printer. Are you using the printer vendor's stated drivers for macOS 14?

Are you accessing your Pages documents on a local drive and booting from an internal drive? Or are these Pages documents on some cloud-sourced location?

One thing you can do while launching Pages after it crashes (or hangs with force quit) is to press the shift key when launching Pages. That will prevent it from reloading its last saved execution state.
