My Kobo reader is recognized and charges, but does not show up in finder. My MacBook is plugged in (thanks to the previous comment) and I have tried different cables and different ports. Not just my reader, but my hubby's the same thing happens. Anybody have any ideas?

I was having trouble with this, but I was able to find where mine was hidden- on the left side of the finder window, in the grey rectangle, there is a heading called "locations". When I hovered over that, it popped up an arrow that I could click. It then expanded that section and my kobo was there. But it wouldn't show up in my spotlight search.
When connecting the e-reader, there must be a screen coming up on the e-reader that states: connect to this pc. Hit that, and see if the issues persist
I am looking for a solution to the same problem. I have tried everything what was suggested from Kobo Helpdesk (including trying another USB cable, restarting, doing a factory reset Kobo and also reseting MacBook's USB ports. When I connect the devices with a cable, there is a window on the reader which states "connect" but when I hit it, Kobo e-reader does not show up neither in Finder nor Adobe Digital Editions... Any advice what to do? Using MacBook Air 2019 and Sonoma 14.5.
This is not helpful, I already did it. Also reseted SMC. Where's the problem?
