Replaced battery, was working and now it isnt

Hey everyone. So my battery in my 2020 MacBook Air finally quit so I replaced it two days ago. Was working great but today I happened to unplug it and it shut down instantly. I tried to restart right away with nothing happening. Plugged back in and within a minute it restarted on its own. Battery level says 100% and charging and battery is normal.

unplugged again and same thing happened. Then wouldn’t turn on for about an hour. Googled some ideas and it said maybe malware so tried to dl Norton and it shut off, wouldn’t turn on for a bit, same issue. Other option was turn off and restart. Turned off and now won’t turn on at all. Any ideas?

First, never use antivirus software like Norton on your mac. It will do nothing for you besides of slowing your mac down. If you’re afraid that there is malware the free version of malwarebytes will delete any known mac malware

Second, If you have had the repair at apple or an authorized repair center i would go back to there to see if there is any issues with the new battery

Did you do the replacement or did you take it to someone to replace? If someone else replaced it, was it an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider? If so, take it back and have them fix it right. IF it was some unauthorized provider you could also take it back and her them make things right and good luck with that.
