How to add location to Shared Album in Photos iOS

Sharing holiday photos through a Shared Album with someone (with Apple ID) on the same holiday is nice, but is rather useless when location data is missing. Even for myself with this Shared Album on the same iPhone I created the Shared Album on.

When creating the Album it says in Options "Full photo data including location", and then, after adding the selected photos, all photo data are gone, except for data and time. (Btw, adding location through Remarks is a bit of bother and superfluous as it is already present)

You can't. That's part of Apple's security in that any photo added to a Shared Album is stripped of metadata. With photos of children you don't want location or any info about them out on shared albums.

You could probably put the general location in text at a corner of the image with Photos' Markup feature or if you allow comments on shared albums you might be able to put that info in the comments section.

AirDrop transfers all the metadata, including location.

Yes, of course. Notice that there are some options to choose in AirDrop settings about how to handle metadata. And email might also have options for image resolution.
