Why is the keyboard so bad??

Is there any chance apple will sort out this atrocious keyboard? I

am absolutely fed up with it. It is terrible! I have constant typos, the period on internet search is exactly where I hit the space bar. It refuses to learn even the most basic sequences like surname suggestion after forename, basic address sequence etc etc. it has definitely got worse and I find it so frustrating.

I am embedded with apple but this would definitely have me returning to android.
