MacBook USB-C charger working in one Orientation Only on IPad Pro

Lately, when I charge my iPad Pro using my MacBook Pro’s charger, the USB-C plug only charges in one orientation. When I turn it over, the charging symbol on the iPad Pro blinks and the iPad doesn’t charge. I just updated to the latest software but this issue began when the iPad was up-to-date.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

As described, either the charging cable, the Power Adapter, or the USB-C port of the iPad is damaged or defective. The cable and Power Adapter are easily and cheaply replaced - while an iPad repair, if required, will be potentially expensive.

You might be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess all three - and you will be in the best possible place to explore available remedies:
