No audio icon in Apple News+

I am paying for Apple News+ and running the iOS 17.5.1 on my iPhone and the latest software updates on the rest of my devices. I do not see the audio icon in the Apple News app on the bottom bar or anywhere else. I have had it escalated to engineering and even they are stumped. Is anyone else having this issue. I have confirmed Audio for Apple News+ is available in my country (Canada).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
